Habit tracker for ADHD

A habit tracker for ADHD that lives inside your day

Alune is a habit tracker for ADHD on iPhone, iPad and the web. Habits sit in your daily plan next to events, to-dos and medicine instead of in a separate app. Each one can be daily, on specific days, or a weekly or monthly target, with reminders, streaks and a yearly heatmap. Sync between devices is free with an account.

Quick answer: what makes a habit tracker work with ADHD?

A habit tracker helps when it is easy to see, quick to tick off, and flexible about timing. A rigid daily checklist is often abandoned after the first missed day. Look for these four things, whichever app you choose.

It shows up where you already look

Habits kept in a separate app are easy to forget. In Alune, the habits due today appear in the Today view beside events, to-dos and medicine, so ticking one off happens in the same place you plan.

It accepts weekly and monthly targets

"Exercise three times a week" or "call home twice a month" is often more realistic than every single day. A good tracker counts progress toward the period, so one missed Tuesday does not wipe out the week.

It tracks amounts, not only yes or no

Some habits are a number: glasses of water, pages read, minutes practiced. A quantity habit with a target and a unit lets partial progress count.

It is fast to set up

If adding a habit takes ten taps, it waits until later. Alune's assistant can create habits from one sentence, such as "I want to stretch every morning and read twice a week".

How habits work in Alune

Every habit has a schedule, an optional reminder and a history. You can:

  • Choose every day, specific weekdays, a weekly target, or a monthly target.
  • Track a habit as done or not done, or as an amount with a target and a unit.
  • Plan the day and time for this week's or this month's sessions, so a flexible target still lands on your calendar.
  • See your current streak, your longest streak and a heatmap of the year.
  • Link a habit to a goal, so small daily actions add up to something bigger.
  • Get a reminder at a time you choose on iPhone and iPad.

The free plan tracks one habit. Alune Pro removes that cap.

Why streaks can backfire, and what helps instead

Streaks are motivating until they break. Many people with ADHD describe the same pattern: a long run, one chaotic day, and then the whole tracker feels ruined, so they stop opening it.

Two design choices soften that. Weekly and monthly targets mean a missed day does not reset the week, because what counts is reaching the target within the period. A longest-streak record and a yearly heatmap keep the whole history visible, so one gap reads as a gap rather than a failure.

If you notice yourself avoiding a habit after missing it, switch it to a weekly target for a while. Three walks a week, every week for a month, is real progress. You can always move back to daily later.

Which kind of habit tracker suits you?

Habit trackers come in a few styles. For people with ADHD we recommend keeping habits inside your planner, which is how Alune works. Our habit tracker ranking covers seven apps in detail.
